David J. Hanrahan, Sr.

President & Chief Executive Officer


David J. Hanrahan is the founding President and CEO of Capital Bank and also serves on the bank’s Board of Directors. He was its first employee, hired by Capital Bank’s Organizers in mid-2006.

Prior to becoming President and CEO of Capital Bank, he spent 16 years at The Bank, f/k/a The Bank of Gloucester County, part of the Fulton Financial Corporation. Hanrahan holds a B.S. in Accounting from Rutgers University – Camden School of Business. He is also a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking from the American Bankers Association/University of Delaware.

He is a Member of the Vineland Rotary Club and a Member of the Greater Vineland Chamber of Commerce. He also serves on the Board of the Cumberland County Habitat for Humanity, on the Executive Board of the Boy Scouts of America Southern New Jersey Council, and is a member of the American Bankers Association Community and Economic Development Committee. He serves as a Guest Professor for the annual Rutgers University Guest Professor Program and is a past instructor for the American Institute of Banking/CFTNJ. Hanrahan resides with his wife and five children in Mullica Hill, New Jersey.

With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Rutgers University and more than 30 years’ experience in commercial banking, operations, auditing, finance, and asset liability management, Tom is highly qualified for his present position.  During Capital Bank’s planning and development prior to opening, he served as a consultant to the organizers.  Before that, he was Executive Vice-President, CFO/COO, and Secretary of Liberty Bell Bank, which he joined in July 2005, after having served seven years as CFO/COO of the Pennsylvania Business Bank, in Philadelphia.  From 1989-1998, he was Senior Vice-President, Treasurer, and CFO of The Bank of Gloucester County, in Woodbury, NJ.  Having grown up in Philadelphia, Tom lives in Washington Township with his wife, Nancy.  He enjoys travel, tennis, and fishing

Joseph Rehm

Executive Vice President & Chief Lending Officer

Joe is a graduate of the ABA Commercial Lending School and is presently enrolled in the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Pennsylvania. His banking career started as a teller and later a credit analyst at Woodstown National Bank. During his almost 10-year career with Woodstown National / The Bank he held various positions including Vice President in the Commercial Lending Department. He serves as a volunteer member and the Vice Chairperson of the Board of Directors for the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce, the President of the Board of Directors for the Gloucester County YMCA, a member of the Advisory Board for the Academy of Finance at the Gloucester County Institute of Technology and coaches various youth sporting activities. Born and raised in Gloucester County, Joe lives in Clayton with his wife Tonya and their three children, Elijah, Maura and Trevor.

Elaine Melfe Elaine Melfe

A BSA officer with a number of AIB banking courses on her resume, Elaine joined Capital Bank of New Jersey in 2007 as vice-president of operations and BSA officer. She also heads Capital’s human resources and IT departments. During a professional career that began in 1972 as teller manager for National Bank & Trust Company of Gloucester County, she has held a number of executive positions, including teller manager and assistant manager at First Fidelity, assistant manager and mortgage originator at First Union, manager and conversion specialist at “The Bank” of Gloucester County, and senior vice-president of operations and BSA officer at Pennsylvania Business Bank. She is credited with the creation of policy and procedures manuals for two financial institutions. Having grown up in Colonial Manor, NJ, she resides now in Mickleton with husband Tom. They have three children: Tom, Mike, and Christina. Among her pastimes are gardening, reading, building sand castles, and camping.

Cosmo Giovinazzi, IV Cosmo Giovinazzi, IV
Vice President & Cumberland County Market Manager


Cosmo received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Villanova University in 1995. His many voluntary community activities include vice chair of Big Brothers of Cumberland and Salem Counties, president of the Police Athletic League, board member of the Vineland Chamber of Commerce, board member of Cumberland County Technical Education Foundation, and member of the Italian American Benevolent Association. He writes “Cosmo’s Corner,” a regular financial feature in Vineland’s weekly newspaper, The Grapevine. Born and raised in Vineland, he lives there still with his wife, Donna Marie. Among his pastimes are running, skiing, and working in the backyard.

Beth Paglione

A 1993 graduate of Millersville University with a BS in Business Administration, Beth joined Capital Bank in January 2011.  Prior to joining Capital Bank, Beth spent the prior 18 years employed at The Bank, part of Fulton Financial Corp., most recently working as a Commercial Lender out of Woodbury.  She currently serves as a Board Member of the Greater Pitman Chamber of Commerce.  A lifelong resident of Gloucester County, Beth resides in Pitman with her family.


Bradley Cusick

Vice President/Camden-Burlington County Market Manager

A West Virginia University alumnus, Cusick is also a graduate of Southern Methodist University Cox Business School, the ABA National Commercial Lending School and Cherokee High School in Marlton, New Jersey. He is a life-long member of Tavistock Country Club. Mr. Cusick resides in Camden County, New Jersey with his wife and daughter.


Sheryl Zappala Sheryl Zappala
Assistant Vice President – Loan Operations

A 1978 graduate of Gloucester County College with an Associate of Arts degree in accounting, Sheryl was employed by National Bank & Trust Company of Gloucester County from 1978-1987 as credit analyst; by Woodstown National Bank & Trust Company from 1988-2001 in the credit and loan accounting departments; and by “The Bank” of Gloucester County – first, in the loan accounting department, from 2001-03, and then as assistant credit department manager, from 2003 until 2007. She joined Capital Bank in 2007. The Clarksboro, NJ, native resides in Swedesboro with her husband, Russell and their son, Timothy. Sheryl enjoys running and cycling.

Branch Manager, Vineland

Denise has long years’ experience in banking beginning with Minotola National, where she served as teller, branch manager, operations, loan officer, and assistant vice-president during her twenty-seven-year tenure from February 1979 to April 2006. She was next employed by Susquehanna Bank until February 2007, when she joined Capital Bank of New Jersey’s business development department. Among her professional contributions, she instituted procedures and authored manuals concerning banking operations. A notary public and security officer, Denise attended Cumberland County College and has various AIB banking courses to her credit. The Vineland native lives with husband, Rich, and daughter, Kristina, and enjoys jogging and gardening.

A 1999 graduate of Rowan University, with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration and Management, Brad joined Capital Bank of New Jersey in July 2010. His previous banking experience includes managing the Atrium Headquarters Office of Commerce Bank NA in the late 90's. He has spent the past 9 years at Brand Jewelers, where he helped manage a family owned jewelry store in Deptford, NJ. With a passion for banking and accounting, he rejoins the banking industry using his strong management skills to lead the Woodbury Heights Branch of Capital Bank. Born and raised in Gloucester County, Brad resides in Williamstown, NJ with his wife Jenn, and daughter Bella.


Lisa Varesio

With over 30 years in the banking industry, Lisa joined Capital Bank of New Jersey in 2010. Her previous banking experience ranges from teller, head teller, assistant manager and branch manager—all in various Hammonton, NJ banking institutions such as First Fidelity Bank (4 years), Empire Savings Bank (7 years), Minotola National Bank (4 years) and Sun National Bank (15 years). Born and raised in Hammonton, Lisa now resides in Mullica Township, NJ. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, traveling, fishing, spending time with family and friends


Brian Timberman

Brian received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Finance from Widener University in 1985 and has completed Commercial Lending School, University of Oklahoma, National Compliance School, University of Oklahoma, Bank Operations School, Rutgers University and numerous other banking courses. Prior to joining Capital Bank in April 2014 Brian was employed by Fulton Bank of NJ as Sr. V.P. Manager of the Woodstown Loan Production Office. Prior to Fulton Bank, Brian also worked as a Sr. V.P. Commercial Loan Officer for Susquehanna Bank having an office in Mullica Hill, NJ.

Active in the community, Brian serves as Vice Chairman of the Memorial Hospital of Salem County and Chairman of Salem County Vocational School Foundation Board of Trustees. Born and raised in Salem County, Brian resides with his family in Pittsgrove, NJ.


Ginger Heckmann

With over 30 years in the banking industry, Ginger joined Capital Bank of NJ in May 2010. Ginger started as a teller at Guarantee Bank in Northfield, NJ in the 80’s and through mergers/acquisitions, worked her way to management for NatWest Bank. Ginger worked for Summit Bank in Hammonton, NJ as a customer service representative before staying home to raise her children. In 1999 she started with a de novo bank, Boardwalk Bank, in Linwood NJ, where she helped develop policies and procedures, and started and managed the Operations Department. Prior to starting her career at Capital Bank of NJ, Ginger worked for a bank processor, Open Solutions, located in Cherry Hill, NJ for 2 years, which gives her a different perspective of the bank processing.

Ginger resides in quiet Weymouth, NJ with her husband, Michael and their 3 sons, Steven, David and Daniel. In her spare time she loves to read, travel, and spend time with family and friends. Ginger is also member of a women’s group, Love it Forward, which helps people in need in local communities.


Nia Coombs

Nia graduated from The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Prior to joining Capital Bank in 2007, and while at college, she worked in real estate for 4 years. Her career at Capital Bank progressed from an Executive Administrative Assistant, to a Credit Analyst, and then to a Commercial Loan Officer/SBA lender. A 2014 graduate of the ABA National Commercial Lending School, Nia also manages Capital Bank’s First Time Home Buyer program. She lives in Cape May County with her family.


Margie Golway

Deposit Operations Officer


Margie started with Capital Bank of NJ in April 2007 and has more than 40 years of banking experience. Margie started her banking career as a teller and before starting at Capital Bank, she was a Manager of Deposit Operations for Minotola/Susquehanna Bank for 16 years before coming to Capital Bank. Margie has been instrumental in writing and developing procedures for both the branches and back office. Margie was born and raised in Hammonton, NJ and has resided in Vineland, NJ for 38 years with her husband Bruce.
